About
Originally Cape Town-based, my clients include leadership teams, individuals, and couples; and I now work both locally and internationally. Alongside my clients, I co-create sustainable and demonstrable change for the people I work with.

Experience
What qualifies me to do this work
- 1992Clinical work
- 1998Organisational work
- 2002HumanWorks Pty Ltd
Having qualified as a psychiatric occupational therapist, I began working clinically with troubled young people in 1992. Those early years gave me two things that have stayed with me ever since. The first is a deep understanding of why people behave the way they do, and an even deeper respect for the impact that these differences have on our relationships and our lives. The second is an instinct for grounded, practical interventions and a commitment to share this with the people I engage with.
In 1998 I moved into organisational work. I initially facilitated a variety of training programmes which in those days we called ‘soft skills’. In 2002, I designed a course on Emotional Intelligence and started my own consulting business — HumanWorks Pty Ltd. My tagline of ‘Human dynamics in the workplace’ spoke to the focus of the work I have been doing ever since. I have facilitated leadership teams and coached leaders and executives across various industries, always bringing the same clinical attention and practical solutions to the relationships and dynamics inside organisations.
“Different rooms, different people, the same underlying work. Helping people understand themselves, each other, and what to do about it.”
Over the last ten years I have added couples work to my private practice. People come to me through recommendation and referral: from teams I have worked with, from former clients, and from colleagues in adjacent fields.
Alongside this income-producing work, I have been part of an international NPO for over 20 years that focuses on women’s healing and empowerment. As the first woman in South Africa to be certified as a facilitator in this programme, I have learnt a huge amount through this work.
The length, breadth and depth of my experience and training means that I have a substantial toolbox at my fingertips; enabling me to offer customised and bespoke engagements, in order to best serve the situation in front of me.
Approach
What makes my work different
My clinical foundation, my decades inside organisations, my private practice and my NPO work all inform each other.
And I am also a woman, a mother of two young adults, who has experienced the pain, fear and loss of ending a long-term relationship, and starting again.
I have had to walk my talk.
“I bring more than theoretical knowledge. I bring a life that has had to confront the same things I help others manage.”
This means that while I have strong theoretical knowledge and skills, I also have a lived experience of confronting change and loss, and coming out the other side.
I believe that these experiences, while incredibly hard at the time, mean that I bring a level of authenticity and integrity seldom experienced in an industry that is saturated with coaches, facilitators, retreats and experiences.
“What I care about is that the work truly makes a difference. That people leave with skills they can actually use, the motivation and confidence to use them, and the commitment to ensure sustainable change.”
